KIRKLAND - Women's cross country welcomes Marissa Guthrie.
Bellingham High School native Marissa Guthrie joins the cross country team as an incoming freshman seeking to study psychology. Throughout high school, Marissa has volunteered for Reedmer Church, FCA, and YoungLives.
Head Coach Mark Mandi says, "We love what Marissa will bring to NU. She loves Jesus and wants others to grow in a love for him, which is why she leads her high school FCA. She's going to help continue building a team culture here rooted in Jesus. Not only is she a leader, God gave her a competitive spirit. She was a point scorer on her high school team that was 5th at the state cross country championships. Then, she just wrapped up her high school track career by posting some big PR's at the district meet."
Marissa says she selected Northwest for the "Christ-centered atmosphere on campus and the strength of their psychology program."
