VANCOUVER, WA - Friday, Nov. 17, the NAIA held the National Cross Country Championships in which the Eagles' very own Kaylea Hartman competed in the women's 6k.
Hartman was one of two Cascade Collegiate Conference individual qualifiers. The graduate student came in 44th out of 331 finishers, a 22:47.4 6k time.
"Kaylea had a fantastic race today, one of the best races I've seen her run," says Head Coach Mark Mandi. "To finish 44th overall among the best runners in the NAIA is a huge accomplishment and even a big improvement from her conference race two weeks ago. She loves competing as a way to worship and honor God, so I'm glad she got to experience it one more time on a cross country course. We had a lot of people come down to support, which really helped push her, so a huge thanks to all the coaches, teammates, family, and friends that came here."
Hartman's national qualification and finish was the final competition for cross country's 2023 season.
