KIRKLAND - The 2023 NFCA NAIA All-Region softball awards were announced today, and two recognizable Eagle names made the list.

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced the 149 student-athletes from 68 schools, and among those athletes are Sydney Maurer and Madisyn Leffle as Second-team All-Region.

Fead Coach Pam Fink says, "Sydney and Madisyn had amazing seasons. I love seeing them being recognized by coaches in the region. They have made their mark with NU softball."

Fndeed their mark was made as Maurer and Leffle set a number of school records, including Mauer's .404 (.40397) batting average and Leffles's 92 stolen bases throughout her career. 

Four Eagles were also honored as 2023 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes, having cumulative GPAs over 3.5. Congratulations to Emily Barry, Abby Blahut, Olivia Brown, and Madisyn Leffle. 

"Emily, Abby, Olivia, and Madisyn deserve to be recognized for their hard work in the classroom. They give all-out effort in everything they do. I am very proud of them," says Coach Fink.
