Eagles Tie with Geoducks in Single Match Weekend: 2-2

KIRKLAND, WA - The Northwest University men's soccer team ended its game against The Evergreen State College this afternoon with a draw. Each team now adds a tie to its 1-1 records in conference. 

The Geoducks scored the first goal of the game off a penalty kick due to an Eagle yellow card at 32:14. 

A deflected corner kick by Brayden Corwin was recovered by Tyler Hopp who tied the game at 1-1 at in the 36th minute of play. This was Hopp's third goal of the season.

Another corner kick from Brayden Corwin connected with Marcus Swanson on the opposite side of the goal, giving Swanson his first goal of the season.

With the Eagles leading 2-1, the Geoducks found the back of the net off a free kick at six minutes into the second half. The game ended at 2-2.

The Eagles had 15 shots to the Geoducks nine. Nine of the Eagles' shots came from Tyler Hopp, two being on target. Michael Kot got the win as goalkeeper with four saves. 

Head Coach Gary McIntosh says, "We played well today and created many scoring opportunities, but we just could not find the back of the net. In this conference, we'll take the point from the tie and move on. We have two tough opponents next week and need to have a good week of practice."

The Eagles will play their fourth and fifth home games in a row next weekend. They will host Warner Pacific on September 29 at 12:30 pm followed by Multnomah on September 30.
