NU Ties with Knights

KIRKLAND, WA - The Northwest University men's soccer team held Warner Pacific to zero goals after the Knight's ten goals last weekend. The Eagles were unable to find the net as well, resulting in a 0-0 tie.

A scoreless first half was led by NU's offense attempting six shots, three being on target. Brayden Corwin, Jacob Moon, and Corbin Herrera had one shot on goal a piece. On the other end of the field, the Knights had four shots, two being on target.

The Eagles had two more shots in the second half. The Knights picked up speed, attempting four more shots on goal, but NU goalkeeper Alex Thiehofe kept them scoreless. He had six saves total.

"We had a game plan for today, and the guys executed it well," says Head Coach Gary McIntosh. "I like how we came out in the first half and created some early chances to score. The defense was strong, and Alex was great in goal today, producing some big-time saves.  We always want to win the game, but getting a point from the tie is huge. We will now turn our focus to tomorrow's game."

Tomorrow's match will be held at 12:30 p.m. in Kirkland against Multnomah University, who lost to Evergreen State this afternoon, 0-1.
