Eagles Soar Above Wolves: 97-76

KIRKLAND, WA - Northwest put on a strong show today to secure the win against Walla Walla University, 97-76.

The Eagles were able to have a quick start by going on a 12-2 run to open the first half. Northwest was able to hold that momentum for the remainder of the half and held a nine-point lead going into half.

Coming out of halftime, Walla Walla looked to get back in the game and put pressure on the Eagles. As the Wolves came within five, Northwest answered back and started to find its rhythm once again. Northwest showed a 52 field-goal percentage in the second half that helped propel the Eagles to victory.

"Proud of our guys for gutting out a win today," said Head Coach Rick Skeen. "We had several guys step up, starting with Devante who got his first start this season. Luke and Lewis were solid for us as well. Felt good to get a win after losing to them the first time around."

Luke Howard posted another double-double with 28 points and 13 rebounds on the day. Lewis Pope followed closely with 26 points, while Manuel Zapater brought home 18.

Northwest hosts LC State tomorrow at 5 p.m.
