Salem, OR - The Northwest women's basketball team finished the Corban Classic against Simpson but could not capitalize as the Eagles fell to the Redhawks, 68-55.
The first quarter was more offensively productive for the Redhawks, but the Eagles were able to keep pace, converting 47% of their shots and 3 for 7 of their three-pointers. The Eagles ended the quarter nipping at the Redhawks' heels, only trailing by three.
The second quarter, however, was a struggle for the Eagles. The ladies were only able to put up eight points and convert 3 for 12 of their shots. The Redhawks were able to outscore the Eagles, 18-8, which was enough to keep the Eagles at bay for the game.
The third quarter was much better for the Eagles, going for half of their shots, 40% of their three-pointers, and converting their only free throw of the quarter. The Eagles were even able to outscore the Redhawks, 17-14, but it wasn't enough.
The Redhawks in the fourth quarter converted 50% of their shots and all three of their free throws. The Eagles could not keep up, only shooting 4 of 14 and only converting 30% of their three-pointers.
Kaleah Medeiros led the team in points with 17, while Kimberly Carrada Sanchez finished with 10 points.
