Eagles Keep It Close in Loss to Bulldogs

Butte, MT - The Northwest women's basketball team fought tooth and nail to keep the game on their terms but fell just shy at the end, losing to Montana Western, 77-71.

The first quarter started strong for the Eagles, but the Bulldogs were able to pull away with the lead and end the quarter, 24-16. The Eagles shot 7 for 15 to start the game and were able to keep pace with the Bulldogs for the rest of the game.

The second quarter started with the Eagles nearly taking the lead, going on a 9-2 stretch. However, the Bulldogs had other plans. The Bulldogs were able to keep their distance, ending the second quarter, 38-30. The Eagles were able to go 31.3% in field goals and 40% in three-pointers.

The third quarter was where the Eagles started to lose steam and fall behind the Bulldogs. The Eagles were only able to score one three-pointer out of ten from beyond the three-point line, allowing for the Bulldogs to end the period on the game's biggest lead, 61-49.
