Bellingham, WA - The Northwest men's basketball team could not keep up with Western Washington, falling 96-65.
The Eagles went into Carver Gym hoping to rebound from their loss against Seattle U, but once again fell short of their goal.
The Vikings and Eagles were near deadlock in the three-point category in the first half, with each team making three from outside the three-point line. The difference came in the field goals. The Eagles were only able to convert 40%, while the Vikings made 52.9% of theirs, giving the Vikings the lead at halftime, 49-30.
The Eagles were able to add pressure in the second half, scoring 38.7% of their field goals and 22% of their three-pointers. However, the Vikings were in full control, shooting 16-28 and converting half of their three-pointers. The Vikings were able to hold off the Eagles in dominant fashion for the entire game, not giving up the lead to take the win.
Tay Aubry-Thomas lead the team in points with 13, while Nash Wobrock followed right behind him with 12 points.
