Eagles' Second Half Performance Secures Win

Helena, MT - The Northwest men's basketball team takes an impressive road win over Carroll College, 82-73.

After a hard-fought, last-minute loss to the Argos on Friday, the Eagles had to refocus their attention to the Fighting Saints. The Saints have had their fair share of struggles, entering into tonight's matchup 3-7.

The Eagles and Saints finished the first half dead even at 38. The Eagles shot for 16-31, 2-9 in threes, and a perfect 4-4 in free throws. Meanwhile, the Saints shot for 14-26, 3-9 in threes, and 7-8 in free throws. The Saints got off to a fast start, but the Eagles were able to keep the game from getting out of hand.

The Eagles gained significant control of the game as the Saints lost steam halfway through the half. The Eagles shot 14-30, made 14-20 of their free throws, but were only able to hit two out of their ten three-pointers. The Saints struggled, only hitting 11-31 of their shots, 1-8 in threes, and 12-15 of their free throws and only got three points from their bench. The Eagles looked refreshed, and this is what allowed the Eagles to hop in the driver's seat for the win.

Tay Aubry-Thomas had a monstrous performance with 18 points, 16 rebounds, and six blocks. Nash Wobrock continued his strong season with 16 points on the afternoon, and Trent Williams had a solid game with 15 points. Isaiah Crane of the Saints led the entire game in points with 20.
