KIRKLAND, WA - The Eagles started their final homestand of the regular season against a talented Eastern Oregon squad, ultimately falling 58-76.
Northwest struggled to get going offensively as the Mountaineers found their groove early. The Eagles were able to keep them at arms' distance for the majority of the first half. However, the Mountaineers created a big hole for Northwest to get out of when they came out strong at the start of the half. The Eagles could not make up enough ground in the last ten minutes as the Mountaineers claimed the victory.
"Tough loss tonight," said NU Head Coach
Ken Crawford. "We lost focus at the wrong time, and Eastern Oregon took advantage of it."
Grace Harder and
Alli VanKooten led the Eagles with 11 points each, while
Kylie Lunday scored ten.
Northwest will host The College of Idaho tomorrow at 3 p.m. At the final home game of the regular season, the Eagles will honor nine seniors before the game.
