KIRKLAND, WA - The Eagles finished a difficult homestand with a tough loss to the Corban Warriors, 61-57.
The first quarter showcased grit from both sides as the Warriors only led by three after ten minutes. Northwest came out strong in the second quarter and quickly gained the lead. As the two teams battled, they went into halftime with a tied ball game.
The Eagles saw their biggest lead of the night with a 10-point advantage in the third quarter. However, the Warriors would not let Northwest widen that lead. The final ten minutes proved a difficult portion of the game for the Eagles as they struggled to maintain their rhythm from the previous quarter. As the Warriors made crucial shots, Northwest fell behind and could not regain the lead.
"This loss hurt tonight," said Head Coach
Ken Crawford. "We played well for major portions of the game but made mistakes at some crucial times. It is important for us to regain focus and get ready for the last six games. They are going to make all the difference in our push for a playoff spot!"
Kylie Lunday led the Eagles with a double-double including 21 points and 10 rebounds.
Kyrin Baklund brought in 11 points.
Northwest is on the road next to face Southern Oregon on Friday, Feb 9, at 5:30 p.m.
