CLADWELL, ID - Northwest fought against The College of Idaho in a back and forth match that ended in a 3-1 loss to the Yotes.
The first set showed this would be a close match through the end. As the Yotes and Eagles traded points, the Yotes were barely able to come away with the first set. The Yotes were able to continue that momentum into set two that had the Eagles searching for a way to come back from two sets down.
But, NU did not give up as they battled back and were able to take set three and avoid being swept. In set four, the Eagles kept it close, but the Yotes were able to pull away and take the victory.
"Idaho played very clean tonight and that was really the difference in the match," said Head Coach Steve Bain. "Still, even though we aren't getting the results that we are fighting for, the return on our investment is beginning to show. The team is excited for the coming week and another opportunity to demonstrate progress."
Delaney Sparks led the Eales with 11 kills while Aubree Dees was close behind with 10. Ellie Van Berkum came home with 26 digs from the match.
