Kirkland, WA - The Northwest women's basketball team drop their fourth straight game against Eastern Oregon 86-54.
The Eagles and Mountaineers came into this game on completely different paths. The Eagles looked to get out of a three game losing funk while the Mountaineers rode in on a five game win streak.
The Eagles got a massive single player effort from the hometown freshman Kimberly Carrada Sanchez, who unloaded with a season best 27 points. She shot for 64.2% the whole game while hitting 75% of her threes. Despite her impressive effort, the Eagles could not keep up with the Mountaineers' balanced attack.
The Mountaineers shot for 49.2% the entire game and made 34.6% of their threes. The Mountaineers also collected 37 rebounds with every participating player contributing to at least one in the game. The Eagles could not keep up with the visiting squad, putting up 34.5% in shooting and 35.3% in threes.
"Another team we feel like we can play with but their depth truly was the difference," said Head Coach Randall Edens. "We ran into foul trouble issues early but navigated the 1st half just fine for what we absorbed there. Meanwhile Kim had a fantastic 1st half as well, but all game long, their ability to post up and finish inside while getting over 40 bench points was the game changer."
