Eagles Get Dominated On The Road

Salem, OR - The Northwest women's basketball team get routed by Corban University by a score of 82-56.

The Eagles had a good feeling coming into this game with a strong performance against the Beacons despite falling just short and now staring at a five game losing streak. The Warriors have had an up and down year, but they were able to come away with a big win over the Geoducks on Friday.

Unfortunately for the road side, it was ugly from the jump. The Eagles were only able to set up 23 points in the first two quarters while the Warriors dunked 44 points which meant the Eagles could not find a way back into this one. The Warriors in the second quarter were able to shoot for 56.3%.

While the Eagles steadily got better at putting up points on the board, especially in the fourth with 19, it was too little too late as the Warriors offense stayed in cruise control. The Warriors were able to splash 75% of their free throws and over 50% of their threes in the third and fourth quarter. This allowed for the Warriors to sail towards the win with ease.

Kimberly Carrada Sanchez pulled out with the most points in the game with 17 points while Saydee Anderson followed up with 15 points.

"Corban was a good test for discipline and how to navigate the road with some different dynamics," said Head Coach Randall Edens. "The second quarter tends to continue to be a challenge for us to have us respond with a much better second half indicative of how we are capable of playing regardless of our circumstances. We have to deal with a series of injuries and we're playing many different lineups that we were not accustomed to...but we competed well in the 2nd half and that's encouraging for what lies ahead we hope."
