Eagles Lose Fourth Straight in Hard Fought Game

Ashland, OR - The Northwest men's basketball team gets handed its fourth straight loss to Southern Oregon as they fall, 73-55.

Desperate to get out of the funk, the Eagles looked to take on and defeat a good Raiders squad who have won their last two games and have been able to keep themselves within the playoff hunt.

It was a game lost in the first half as the Eagles struggled to defend the Raiders' snappy attack, and the Raiders led at halftime, 41-27. The Raiders nailed 45.5% of their shots, splashed 42.9% of their three pointers, and drilled 62.5% of their free throws. The Raiders also made a splash under the rim, nabbing 22 rebounds, helping them get the edge. The Eagles struggled offensively, shooting 37.9% and hitting only 20% of their threes. However, they were able to hit 60% of their free throws, preventing the game from getting too far ahead of them.

The Eagles favored the second half as their defense was able to limit the Raiders to 32 points, 39.3% in their shooting, and 38.5% in threes. The Eagles' offense was able to drill half of their shots and their free throws. However, the achilles heel for the Eagles was the three point line, and they only hit 20% of their free throws. It was a hard-fought second half for the Eagles, but the first half was their undoing.

Nash Wobrock continues to lead the team in points with 14 on the night, while Dominic Wilson followed that up with eight points. Raiders' Bryce Dyer recorded a double-double on the night by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds.

"Our guys really battled tonight and had a great effort," said Head Coach Rick Skeen. "Our defense was good enough to win, but we struggled with turnovers and shooting the ball tonight."
