Eagles Fall in Tight Match to Warriors

SALEM, Ore. - The Northwest University men's soccer team dropped a close match to Corban on Friday, falling 2-1.

The Eagles were the first to strike, taking a 1-0 lead late in the first half when Logan Anderson netted an unassisted goal. Northwest held the lead deep into the second half, but the Warriors eventually found the net when Josiah Solorzano scored in the 71st minute. 

The game-winning goal for Corban came in the 81st minute, as Jude Barzousky found the back of the net off an assist from Nathan Martinez.

Corban led the match in offensive opportunities, outshooting Northwest 16-9 overall, and holding an 8-3 advantage in shots on goal (SOG). NU goalkeeper Bailey Hopkins had a busy night, recording 6 saves in the full 90 minutes of action. 

The Eagles look to bounce back tomorrow as they head to Eugene to take on Bushnell.
