KIRKLAND, Wash. - Northwest University soared to a convincing 3-0 shutout victory over Warner Pacific University on Friday afternoon. The win pushes the Eagles' season record to 7-4-3 (3-2-3 CCC).
The Eagles took control of the match early, maintaining a high volume of shots throughout the contest. They broke the deadlock in the first half when
Talia Hurst netted the opener, capitalizing on a well-placed assist from
Hailey Deese.
The lead remained slender until the second half, when the Eagles doubled their advantage to gain breathing room. In the 64th minute,
Gracie VanAssche found the back of the net, assisted by
Talia Hurst, making the score 2-0.
The Knights' defense, anchored by goalkeeper Kate Pomerinke who made a nine saves on the day, managed to hold firm against several attacks but were ultimately overwhelmed by Northwest's continuous pressure. The home side sealed the win late in the match, when
Ella Baker scored the third and final goal, assisted by
Sara Becerra.
