NU Falls to Wolves in Four

COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. - The Eagles faced another fierce competitor on Saturday night in the Walla Walla Wolves. Each set proved to be a tight battle, but ultimately the Wolves closed it out and took the match, 3-1.

The Wolves' victory was powered by Sahara Browning who led all players with a match-high 22 kills and added two service aces. The offense also leaned on Paula Flores, who posted a double-double with 17 kills and a team-leading 19 digs.

The Eagles showed resilience throughout the match, keeping the contest tight across all four sets. Kaitlyn Mickle was the top offensive threat for the Eagles, leading the team with 13 kills.

Setter Morgan Harter ran the Northwest offense with 24 assists, while Aubree Dees provided all-around play with 8 kills, 4 service aces, and 14 digs. The Eagles won the second set 25-23, and kept each set within grasp. But, ultimately fell to the Wolves in four.

"We played a determined Walla Walla team tonight and despite the loss, I felt that our ladies were able to reset and bounce back from last night," said NU Head Coach Steve Bain. "The match came down to a few points at the end of each set, and we have to credit Walla Walla for making the plays when the match hung in the balance."

The Eagles head home and will host more ranked CCC opponents next weekend in Bushnell and Corban.
