KIRKLAND, Wash. - The Northwest University Eagles women's volleyball team battled hard but ultimately fell to the No. 23 Bushnell Beacons in a four-set match on Friday evening. The Eagles took the opening set but could not maintain the momentum, dropping the match with set scores of 25-21, 17-25, 12-25, 20-25.

Both squads came into the evening with a top 25 ranking, giving us another ranked CCC match-up. Northwest came out firing, securing a 25-21 victory in the first set. The team's strong start, however, was answered by the Beacons. Bushnell's offense found its stride, especially in the third set where they hit an efficient .586. Despite the home-court advantage, the Eagles dropped the next three sets, allowing Bushnell to clinch the victory.

Kaitlyn Mickle led the Eagles with 12 kills.
Morgan Harter had a double-double with 29 assists and 11 digs on the night.

"After the first set Bushnell did a terrific job with their first contacts and we struggled to side out and score points with any kind of consistency" said NU Head Coach Steve Bain. "As a result, they dominated in transition and were able to control the match."

Northwest faces another top opponent as they host Corban University tomorrow at 6:00 PM.
