GREAT FALLS, Mont. - The Northwest University men's soccer team drew the University of Providence 2-2 on Thursday.
The Eagles struggled in their last outing with a tough 4-1 loss to Carroll College on Saturday. The Argos, meanwhile, have been on a three-game win streak with their last win coming against Warner Pacific in a 2-1 showdown on Sunday.
The Eagles gave up a goal within the first five minutes of the game for the fourth time in a row as Pedro Rodrigues of the Argos mashed one three minutes into play. It was a slow first half after the goal as the Eagles mustered four shots but none of them reached the net.
The Eagles would start the second half on the right foot as Roland Ngoy broke through with his first goal of the season in the 47th minute. The Eagles would take the lead thanks to Joao Lucas Fonseca in the 64th minute. In the 79th minute however, Jose Arevaldo of the Argos sealed the draw in the 79th minute of the game.
Yellow cards shot up during the last 17 minutes of play. Bernardo Melo was booked in the 73rd minute, Liam Vaux of the Argos received a yellow a minute later. Fonseca received a yellow in the 80th minute then, barely a minute later, was shown a red, leaving the Eagles a man down. Angel Nolasco received a yellow card to close out the final minute of the game.
The Eagles will travel to Salem to face Corban on Friday, October 10th at 7:00 PM.
