KIRKLAND, Wash. - The Northwest University Eagles secured a decisive victory over Evergreen on Friday, winning the match 6-0 at home against the Evergreen State Geoducks.
The Eagles' offense was relentless, with 23 total shots, 14 of which were on goal. NU saw six different women contribute goals in today's match.
Megan Hurley,
Gracie VanAssche,
Sara Becerra,
Ella Baker,
Kara Bakker, and
Hailey Deese all saw the back of the net. VanAssche assisted on two goals and
Madison Strother and
Kambree Degon also contributed with one assist each.Â
Evergreen's goalkeeper, Katie Gresham, faced a demanding match, recording 8 saves. On the opposite side, Northwest's goalkeeper,
Katie Snow, earned the shutout, making 3 saves over the full 90 minutes.
"Today was a great game all around!" said NU Head Coach
April VanAssche. "We came out strong and I am proud of them for playing strong and getting so many goals. It was a good team effort in the attack and control of the play. Looking forward to the last weekend of conference play next weekend!"
The Eagles will host Eastern Oregon and The College of Idaho in the final weekend of the conference regular season next weekend.
