Eagles Defeat Argos to Split the Weekend

GREAT FALLS, Montana - The Northwest University men's basketball team secured a strong road victory on Saturday, defeating Providence (MT) with a final score of 94-82.

The Eagles dominated the game with exceptional perimeter shooting, particularly in the first half, to build an early lead. Northwest was red-hot from behind the arc all afternoon, shooting 50.0% (17-of-34) from three-point range, and finished the game shooting 54.4% from the field overall. The team's largest lead reached 19 points in the second half of play.

Christian Watkins led the Eagles with 22 points for the night. He also dished out eight assists and took home five rebounds. Logan Stempniak tallied 19 points and seven rebounds while Trent Williams followed close behind with 16 points.

"We did a lot of things well tonight," said Head Coach Rick Skeen. "We really shared the ball with 25 assists and continued to get productions from multiple sources. Chris had a monster game and Logan stacked back to back big games. We need to tighten our defense and take better care of the ball, but excited to bounce back after last night."

Northwest will head over to Alaska next weekend to face the University of Alaska Anchorage in two back-to-back contests.
