MCMINNVILLE, ORE. - The Northwest University men's soccer team topped Linfield University 6-0 with five second-half goals. 

The Wildcats treated this game as a scrimmage, so they played their reserves in this match. The Eagles were full-on business as they entered this game riding the coat tails of a 1-0 last-minute winner against Simpson on Friday. 

The Eagles managed six goals with six different goal scorers throughout the match. Agustin Pernet opened the scoring for the Eagles in the 34th minute with Caleb Rollo coming in for the assist. Ryan Anderson opened the goal-scoring floodgates in the infancy of the second half as Bernardo Melo delivered his first of two assists on the day. Tristin Evans bagged one three minutes later with the help of Matthew Ludlow. 

Melo came in with his second assist as he aided Roland Ngoy in the 65th minute. It was then Ludlow's turn to bag a goal with the fifth of the day as Nick Rivera provided the assist. The Final goal of the day came off the boot of Titus Bishop in the 88th minute with Clayton Johnson coming through with the assist. 

Ten total players recorded points on the day with two players recording two and goaltender Bailey Hopkins recorded another shutout, posting five saves on the day. 

"Nice to score six goals today by six different players and to see the guys have success in front of the net was great," said Head coach Gary McIntosh. "Preseason games are over and we found some success in these games. Now the focus switches to conference games. We have a few days to prepare before we leave on Thursday." 

The Eagles will travel to Klamath Falls, Oregon next weekend to take on Oregon Tech as conference games begin.
