Eagles Draw Against 10-Man Rocky Mountain College

KIRKLAND, Wash. - The Northwest University men's soccer team took a 2-2 draw against Rocky Mountain College after a red card and an equalizing goal.

The Eagles return home for the first time this season and return after suffering back-to-back losses to Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon last weekend. The Bears also came into this game with a 1-0 loss to Carroll College suffered on Saturday.

The Bears started off on the right foot with a goal five minutes into play by David Russell. The Eagles didn't do much to challenge the Bears offensively with only two shots recorded that went wide; the Bears fired five shots in the half.

The second half was action packed. The Eagles and Bears combined for 11 fouls and 20 total shots in the half. Matthew Ludlow of the Eagles and Fynn Sweeting of the Bears took turns bagging goals in the 47th and 55th minute respectively and both teams saw their fair share of bookings. One of the cards issued was a straight red in the 70th minute on Bears defenseman Rory O'Donnell. After the red card, Joao Lucas Fonseca came in with some late-game heroics, banging a shot in the 80th minute for the equalizer as the Eagles avoided defeat.

The Eagles will have one more home game for the weekend as they face Carroll College tomorrow at 3:00 PM.
