KIRKLAND, Wash. - The Northwest University men's soccer team lost to Carroll College 4-1 on Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles have not won a conference game so far into the season, but they had a promising 2-2 draw against Rocky Mountain College on Friday. On the other side, the Saints marched in with a 4-1-1 record and came off a 5-2 win over Evergreen State on Friday.
It only took four minutes for the Saints to get the lead with an early penalty shot by Felix Billard. The Saints' offense did not let up after that with constant pressure and 11 total shots in the first half. The Eagles then found life in the very tail end of the half as Matthew Ludlow slapped on the equalizer.
Five minutes into the second half, Alfie Snow blasted a goal that set the Saints up for the win. Frustrations for the Eagles built up as the Saints scored back to back goals within the 63rd minute as Sam Loughton and Snow buried the hatchet on the match. Ngazikue "Gazi" Kandetu and Joao Lucas Fonseca both received yellow cards for the Eagles and Sean Belan received a yellow for the Saints.
The Eagles will travel to Montana to face the University of Providence on Thursday, October 2nd at 3:30 PM.
