Eagles Draw In Goalkeeper Showcase

KIRKLAND, Wash. - The Northwest University women's soccer team were held to a draw by Rocky Mountain College 1-1 in their first home conference match.

The Eagles return home for the first time in a month and return after drawing with Southern Oregon 1-1 on Sunday. Meanwhile, the Bears managed to secure a win against Carroll College 3-2 last Friday.

Despite the Bears offensive onslaught early in the first half, the Eagles struck first with Gracie VanAssche bagging the first goal at the 32nd minute. The Eagles managed to shoot a total of 14 shots as six of them were on target.

The Bears on the other hand, powered 26 total shots, which meant Katie Snow had a busy but successful day in between the sticks. Snow backstopped nine shots out of ten for the entire match; five of them coming in the first half and four in the second. The only goal Snow gave up came in the 69th minute as Emma Lensing buried the equalizer.

The Eagles will have one more home game on Saturday against Carroll College tomorrow at 12:30 PM.
