— The Northwest University men's basketball team put together a composed, complete effort on Saturday night, earning an 80–71 Cascade Collegiate Conference road win over Walla Walla University at Windemuth Court.
The game was close throughout the first half, with Northwest taking a slim 35–34 lead into halftime. The Eagles weathered several second-half runs by the Wolves before taking control midway through the period and closing the game with steady execution on both ends of the floor.
Andrew Iyamah led Northwest with 18 points and nine rebounds, providing consistent production inside.
Logan Stempniak followed with 17 points, while
Lucius Fox and
Rashid Potter each scored 10 to give the Eagles four players in double figures.
Northwest forced 15 turnovers, while also moving the ball effectively with 25 assists on 29 made field goals.
Christian Watkins led the defensive effort with four steals, helping limit Walla Walla's opportunities. The Eagles also connected on 11 three-pointers to stretch the floor offensively.
Northwest outscored Walla Walla 45–37 in the second half and made key plays late to secure the conference victory. With the win, the Eagles improve to 6–12 overall and 3–7 in CCC play as they continue conference action next week.
