KIRKLAND, Wash. – The Northwest University women's basketball team was unable to overcome a large halftime deficit, falling 81–64 to Corban University on Saturday afternoon at Kristi Brodin Pavilion.
Corban took control in the first half, using a 31–14 second-quarter advantage to build a 46–26 lead at the break. Northwest responded with its best stretch in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Warriors 21–13 over the final 10 minutes, but the early deficit proved too much to erase.
Ellie Bost led the Eagles with 16 points, while also pulling down seven rebounds and recording three steals. Kaleah Medeiros added 10 points, knocking down two three-pointers, and Ellie DeWaard chipped in seven points and two assists.
Ella Whitaker contributed six points and seven rebounds, while Taimane Faleafine-Auwae provided solid minutes off the bench with six points, four rebounds, and one block in 11 minutes of action.
Northwest opened the game with a layup from Whitaker for an early 2–0 lead before Corban answered with a three-pointer from Tori Younker. The Eagles kept the opening quarter competitive and trailed just 15–12, following a late basket from Bost. The Warriors then extended the margin in the second quarter and maintained control through the third.
Northwest will look to build on its fourth-quarter momentum as the Eagles continue conference play next week.
