KIRKLAND, Wash. — Northwest University collected its first Cascade Collegiate Conference win of the season Tuesday night, defeating Evergreen State 101–88 at NU Pavilion.
Northwest controlled the game from the opening quarter, scoring the first basket and never trailing. The Eagles shot 65.6 percent from the field in the first half and connected on eight three-pointers to take a 56–27 lead into halftime. Evergreen State responded in the second half, but Northwest answered each push and maintained a double-digit advantage for the remainder of the contest.
Head Coach Rick Skeen stated, "We played a very good first half. We shared the ball and guarded well. Credit to Evergreen for coming out and changing it up, though we didn't take care of the ball like we should. We are excited for the guys getting a win. We will get back to work now."
Trent Williams led all scorers with 22 points and added 13 rebounds for a double-double. Logan Stempniak finished with 21 points and six assists, while Andrew Iyamah contributed 17 points and seven rebounds. Rashid Potter also reached double figures as Northwest placed five players in double figures.
Northwest shot 57.8 percent from the field and 52.9 percent from three-point range, while recording 25 assists on 37 made field goals. The Eagles held a 43–26 edge on the glass. Northwest's wire-to-wire performance resulted in a decisive conference victory, marking a milestone win as the Eagles broke into the CCC win column this season
