Northwest Earns First CCC Conference Win in Home Victory Over Evergreen

KIRKLAND, Wash. — The Northwest University women's basketball team earned its first Cascade Collegiate Conference win of the season Tuesday night with a 98–67 victory over Evergreen State at home.

Northwest set the tone early, opening the game on a 35-9 first-quarter run and never losing control. The Eagles shot 56.7 percent from the field for the game and 50 percent from three-point range, while holding Evergreen to 38.1 percent shooting.

Ellie Bost led Northwest with a game-high 21 points, adding five free throws in 18 minutes. Kaleah Medeiros followed with 19 points and five assists, while Ella Whitaker contributed 13 points and five rebounds.

Northwest out rebounded Evergreen 43–25 and finished with 22 assists on 38 made field goals. The Eagles also forced 15 turnovers and converted them into early scoring opportunities, building a 51–29 lead at halftime. Head Coach Randall Edens states, "Really fun today to get off to a great start and that helped set the tone for how we played for 40 minutes. I was really proud of how we shared it today with 22 assists and when you shoot over 50% from the floor and 50% from 3.... good things are going to happen.  Also, wonderful to get a lot of people playing time and to be able to get many meaningful minutes for all. Looking forward to Friday with Warner Pacific."

The Eagles continued to extend the margin in the second half, scoring 23 points in the third quarter and 24 in the fourth to secure the conference win.

Northwest returns to Cascade Conference action later this week as it continues league play.
