KIRKLAND, Wash. – Northwest University closed out Senior Night with an 82-77 win over Lewis-Clark State College on Saturday evening inside the NU Pavilion. The Eagles improve to 7-11 in conference play, while the Warriors fall to 14-4 in league action.
Prior to tipoff, Northwest honored six seniors: Trent Williams, Ethan Martin, Andrew Iyamah, Devin Wade-Henderson, Rashid Potter, and Jaron Hansen.
Northwest used a balanced offensive effort and a perfect night at the free throw line to secure the victory, finishing 22-for-22. The Eagles carried a narrow 41-39 lead into halftime and matched that output with another 41 points in the second half to hold off a late push from the Warriors.
Trent Williams led all scorers with 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting, adding six rebounds and two assists. His three-pointer at the 4:25 mark of the second half gave the Eagles a 69-68 lead as part of a key stretch down the final minutes.
Lucius Fox provided a strong performance off the bench with 15 points and a team-high nine rebounds, finishing 5-for-5 at the free throw line, including key attempts in the closing seconds. Shane McGaughey-Fick added 11 points and seven rebounds while connecting on three three-pointers and playing all 40 minutes. Iyamah contributed 11 points to go with his five blocks, anchoring the Eagles defensively throughout the night.
"Special way to send out six seniors tonight," said Head Coach Rick Skeen. "Big contributions on back-to-back nights from Trent with Andrew doing the dirty work. Shane really set the tone playing all 40 minutes, and Jaron gave us a great spark early. Excellent execution down the stretch and 22-for-22 from the foul line is what it takes to beat a very good program like LC."
