PORTLAND, Ore. – Northwest University earned a 106-80 road win over Warner Pacific University on Saturday evening, shooting 56.1 percent from the field and 50 percent from three-point range.
The Eagles built control early and never trailed after the opening minutes. Northwest closed the first half on a 23-8 run to take a 54-30 lead into the break. The lead grew to as many as 30 points in the second half, with the Eagles shooting 53.1 percent over the final 20 minutes.
Andrew Iyamah led all scorers with 24 points, going 9-for-15 from the field, including 4-of-8 from three-point range, and 2-for-2 at the line. He added three rebounds.
Logan Stempniak followed with 22 points on 7-of-12 shooting, knocking down five three-pointers. He contributed six rebounds and seven assists.
Lucius Fox added 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting and was active on the glass with eight rebounds. He also recorded a block and a steal.
Northwest finished 37-of-66 from the field (56.1%), 16-of-32 from beyond the arc (50.0%), and 16-of-18 at the free throw line (88.9%). The Eagles outrebounded Warner Pacific 39-30 and dished out 19 assists on 37 made field goals.
Ethan Martin provided a spark off the bench with eight points and six rebounds, while Christian Watkins added 10 points and two assists. The Eagles also received 36 points from their bench unit.
Warner Pacific shot 42.0 percent from the field and 32.4 percent from three. Northwest limited the Knights to 12 assists and forced 11 turnovers.
With the win, the Eagles continue to build momentum heading into postseason play.
