Big Half Gives Eagles Victory over Wolves

COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. - Northwest University broke out to an 18 point first half lead (44-26) to help power the Eagles to a 94-55 non-conference win over Walla Walla University. NU had seven players score in double figures for the game and improves to 7-2 on the season.

Senior guard Brett Skogstad came off the bench lead the way for Northwest U. with his 14 points hitting 4 of 5 three-point attempts. Senior starters Michael Russo and Ryan McIntosh each scored 13 for the Eagles while Brandyn Winkley came off the Eagle bench to score 12. Michael Greene, Nemanja Grujicic and C.J. Carter all scored 10 points each for NU who shot 52% for the game.

Tristan Greenidge was the leading scorer for Walla Walla finishing with 17 points while teammate Chad Torkelson scored 15 for the Wolves. WWU was held to 38% shooting for the game.

The Eagles and Walla Walla play again tomorrow evening at 6 p.m.
