Playoff Bound: Eagles Clinch Post Season Spot

KIRKLAND, Wash. – The Northwest University men's basketball team has secured a spot in the conference playoffs following a statement victory over No. 22 Lewis-Clark State College on Saturday, February 14.

The Eagles earned their postseason berth with the win, improving to 7-11 in conference play and solidifying their position in the playoff field. The victory over the nationally ranked Warriors marked one of Northwest's biggest wins of the season and provided the momentum needed heading into postseason competition. Making the playoffs is a significant achievement in a competitive conference, especially considering the path Northwest took to get there. After beginning conference play 0-6, the Eagles responded by going 7-5 down the stretch to earn their postseason opportunity.

"Making the playoffs is a big deal for our program, as it is not easy to do in our conference," said Head Coach Rick Skeen. "It has been the goal from the beginning, but we took an interesting path to get here.

"Starting 0-6 in conference and going 7-5 since says a lot about the character of our guys to keep plugging away at it. We feel like we are playing our best basketball of the year at the right time but have areas we are trying to tighten up as we head to the playoffs."

Northwest will compete in the conference quarterfinal on February 25th, at Lewiston, Idaho against Lewis-Clark State College. Tipoff at 7 PM PST.
