"I'm proud of the effort that we put out today," said
Mark Mandi, head coach of the Eagles. "On the women's side, they got out hard and put themselves in good position early but couldn't quite keep the momentum going. Cassidy Brown had her best race of the season and finished 9th and has a good chance of getting one of the national qualifying spots. She has been leading our women in races all season long and today was no different. It's been a great journey to our seniors (Meagan, Marissa, Kelsey, and Joanna) and they are leaving behind a strong foundation for us to continue to build on.
Â
Mandi continued, "On the men's side, we are slowly developing a strong running culture and I'm hopeful that we will get better from our performance today.
Jonathan Ferguson had the best cross country race of his career and finished 26th in a strong field of runners."
"While we hoped to give Cassidy one more shot at racing this season, it has been a good season for us," Coach Mandi concluded.
