Game 2 – The second game would prove just as close as the first with neither team scoring in the first two innings. With two out, Katelyn Riedinger walked and Katelin Lewis hit a clutch double to left scoring Perry and Riedinger giving NU the 2-0 lead. EOU would come back and get one unearned run in the 3rd to make it 2-1.
Mallory Tacdol would increase the NU lead to 3-1 with her solo home run in the 4th inning as she sent one over the left field fence. Back came EOU in the 4th scoring 2 runs to tie the game at 3-all.
Alyssa Gonzalez put NU ahead in the 5th with a big double to left field scoring Erin Ogden who had singled to center. EOU would get a run in the 5th to tie the game again at 4-4 and Gracie Flyg's timely double down the left field line in the bottom of the 6th would give the Mounties the win.

Lindsey Walchli went the distance for EOU giving up 7 hits, 4 runs, 5 strike outs and 2 walks. Kierston Perry started the game for NU and Kelli Peckham came in and pitched 2 and 2/3 innings. Mallory Tacdol went 2 for 3 with her HR and RBI while Katelin Lewis had 2 RBIs going 1 for 4 from the plate.

Said NU coach, John Bacon, "Our pitchers did a good job for us in the circle today and our hitters pushed runners across the plate. One of the challenges of a young team is learning how to win and that comes with experience. The great thing is we are beginning to put ourselves in the position to do so."

NU returns home and will host Northwest Christian and Corban at Everest Park on Friday and Saturday.
