Cassidy Brown has a good chance with her 14th place finish, to qualify for the NAIA national meet which would be her second consecutive trip to the nationals. At-large entrants will be announced some time Monday by the NAIA office.

Thoughts on today's race by NU head cross country coach, Mark Mandi:

"Jonathan (Ferguson) had a solid race today and finished his cross country career at NU with the best finish in his career. I'm proud of the way he battled today and he gave himself a good shot at qualifying for the NAIA nationals. We have a really good, young squad on the men's team with strong leaders, so the best years are ahead of them. They made some good strides this year and I don't want today's race to take away from that."

For the women, Mandi continued: "This was overall the best race this season for us. Out top three women finished in 14th, 19th and 22nd and all wil be returning, so we have a great start to build a really special group over the next few years. Cassidy has a very good chance of being selected for her second straight appearance in the national championships."

"Additionally, I am very proud of our seniors: Jonathan, Brandon, Emily and Kelly. They all put in a lot of time and energy into this program and they will ceratainly be missed."
