Eagles Fly Over Owls

Dak Shagren dunks two of his 21 points.
Box Score KIRKLAND, Wash. – Northwest University's Michael Dupree and Dak Shagren combined for 44 points as the Eagles defeated Oregon Tech, 86-73, in Cascade Conference play tonight. OIT head coach, Danny Miles, was honored in a pre-game ceremony as he coached his final game in the Northwest Pavilion tonight.

Joel Yellow Owl would hit two of his game high 24 points five minutes into the game giving Oregon Tech a 14-8 lead.  Northwest U would slowly chip away at the Owl lead and Paul Loranger's free throw with 8:51 left in the half, cut the OIT lead to 23-22. Loranger would follow that up with an offensive tip in 3 seconds later to put NU into the led for the first time, 24-23. The Eagles would then maintain the lead the remainder of the half as Dak Shagren's 3-pointer with 1:08 on the clock would stretch the Eagle lead to ten 45-35. NU would take a 45-37 lead at the break.

Lavar Moore would cut the NU lead to three 35 seconds into the second half, but that would be the closest tech would get as Northwest U would slowly stretch their lead to 16 points, 76-60, after a lay in by Dak Shagren and a free throw by Michael Dupree with 6:18 to go in the game as the Eagles would go on to even their conference record at 2-2.
