Raney's header in the 99th minute was the golden goal today
Box Score MCMINNVILLE, Ore. – Northwest University's Kieran Raney scored the golden goal with two seconds left in the first overtime as the Eagles edged Linfield College, 2-1, in a non-league contest this afternoon.

Linfield had two shots in the final two minutes of the half, but one shot was blocked and the other saved by Christenson.

Kyle Zimmerman gave Northwest U (2-3) the 1-0 lead in the 47th minute on a penalty kick, his fourth goal of the season. The Eagles had several scoring opportunities in the second half, but came up just short of finishing. Daniel Christenson earns the win in goal for NU making six saves while Jorge Rodriguez took the loss with two save in goal for Linfield. Zimmerman led NU with six shots, two shots on goal. Moi Davis had four shots, two on goal for the Wildcats.

"I'm very proud of the team today!" said Gary McIntosh, NU head coach. "It was a total team effort and the energy and work rate of everyone was spot on today. We created a lot of opportunities throughout the game but were unfortunate to find the back of the net. Defensively, we limited their chances and did not give up many opportunities. Daniel (Christenson) continues to be great in goal. Odason (Pelogi) did a good job in the second half and earned the PK. The effort to get the game winner was excellent and well-deserved. The guys never quit!"
