Eagle Men Climb in the NAIA Top 25 Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Cornerstone (Mich.) claims the No. 1 ranking in the new NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll just released this week. The Golden Eagles earned nine of the 12 first-place votes and 310 total points to receive the top ranking. The NU Eagle men climbed nine spots from No. 22 to No. 13 this week as they continue their unbeaten string.The Eagles have won 13 straight, but are credited for a record of 11-0 since the Quest games were considered exhibitions by the NAIA and will not count on the NU season record.
 
Northwest Christian is ranked No. 7, moving up from 13th and Eastern Oregon is No. 16 having previously been unranked The College of Idaho is ranked 24th in the country, dropping from No. 8.

A big weekend ahead of the men as the team finishes up final exam week. They will travel to Klamath Falls, Ore., to play an always tough Oregon Tech team on Saturday minus their long time coach, Danny Miles, who retired after last season. Former Owl player, Justin Parnell, is now the head coach for the OIT team. The two teams meet Saturday afternoon at 3 pm and then NU heads west to Ashland for a Sunday afternoon meeting with Southern Oregon. The game will be played at Ashland High School since the SOU gym has been torn down and being replaced by a new facility which won't be ready until 2017.
