Box Score 2 KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The Eagles ran into a hot Oregon Tech team today as they hammered out 27 hits in two games including 8 home runs as they swept NU 10-2 and 11-3 in conference play.
Game 1 – Oregon Tech 10, NU 2 (5 innings)
After taking a 3—0 lead in the first three innings, OIT exploded for 6 runs in the 4th on their way to a 5 inning victory. The Owls hit three home runs in the inning to take a 9-3 lead.
The Eagles showed some power themselves as Savanna Rush hit a solo home run in the 4th inning and Janey Ganta also hit a solo shot in the 5th inning. Two OIT pitchers combined for a 3-hitter allowing just one base on balls.
Both Rush and Ganta led Northwest U (7-14, 4-7 CCC) going 1 for 2 with one RBI. Danielle Bonsky also went 1 for 2 for the Eagles.
Game 2 – OIT 11, Eagles 3
Oregon Tech scored early with five runs in the first and four in the second inning as they would go on to take game two from the Eagles, 11-3 in 6 innings.
In the 5 run first inning, the Owls scored on a double to center field and a grand slam home run to take the early, 5-0 lead. Tech came right back in the second inning with a solo home run to right field and a three run home run to right center off NU pitcher Hannah Yelas.
The Eagles got three runs back in the 4th inning as Alyssa Gonzalez and Aubree Slocum led off with back-to-back singles and Allie Anderegg hit her 6th home run to left field to make it a 10-3 game.
OIT would get one more run in the bottom of the 6th inning to end the game and earn the win.
Northwest U (7-15, 4-8 CCC) was led by Aubree Slocum's 2 for 3 game at the plate and Allie Anderegg went 1 for 3 with 3 RBI's for the Eagles.
Northwest U returns home to Kirkland and will host the University of Great Falls and Carroll College next Friday and Saturday at Everest Park.
