KIRKLAND, Wash. - A BIG week for Eagle Athletics as the volleyball, women's soccer and cross country teams all prepare for the NAIA national championships this weekend.
The NU women and men's cross country teams will compete in the NAIA Cross Country National Championships this Saturday morning in Vancouver, Wash. 72 teams and 179 individuals will converge at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site for the annual event. The men are making their first appearance in the national meet while the women return after an absence since the eariy 2000's when NU captured an NAIA national championship.

Women's soccer heads to Southern California for a first round match-up with Vanguard University from the Golden State Athletic Conference. The Eagles earned an at-large bid after finishing second in the Cascade Conference championship tournament for the second consecutive year. Vanguard comes into the game at 15-3-1 and ranked No. 5 in the final NAIA Top 25 poll of the regular season. The Lions defeated Westmont for the post season tournament championship in a shootout. The Eagles pulled off an upset last season against another ranked GSAC opponent, Biola, to advance to the national tournament.
The Eagle volleyball team earned an at-large bid after finishing in the top four of the CCC Championships and ranked No. 21 in the NAIA Top 25 poll. They will host unranked Reinhardt from Waleska, Georgia this Saturday at 3 pm in the NU Pavilion. Reinhardt comes into the match with an impressive 29-6 record after winning their division in the Appalachian Athletic Association and finishing second in their league's post season tournament. The Eagles will host Reinhardt for a team banquet on Friday night.
Note: Admission to this Saturday's volleyball game will be $8 for all adults and $5 for children 12 and under. The no pass list policy will be in effect.
