Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 KIRKLAND, Wash. – Solid pitching led to a win for each team as Northwest University and Carroll College split their CCC doubleheader this afternoon at Everest Park. NU took the first game, 2-0, on a 4-hitter by Rachel Hawley and Carroll won the second game, 6-2, on a 2-hitter by Allison Williams.
 
Game 1 – Northwest U 2, Carroll College 0
 
Northwest U came up with two runs in the 6^th inning to take a 2-0 victory over visiting Carroll College in game one of today's doubleheader. Freshman Rachel Hawley would go the distance in the circle earning the win and limiting the Saints to 4 hits. A tough loss for Carroll pitcher Tess Eaton who tossed a 3-hitter for the Saints.
 
The teams battled to a scoreless tie until the 6^th when Alicia Loiler would drive in two runs with a pinch hit single down the right field line. Savannah Rush had singled to get on base followed by Nanea Tali who reached first on an error with Loiler coming up with the clutch hit.
 
Both pitchers got out of tough 4^th innings jams, not allowing a run to score with the bases loaded.
 
Hawley earned the win for Northwest U (10-22, 5-14 CCC) going 7 innings, giving up the four hits while striking out 5 Saint batters. Danielle Bonsky, Savannah Rush and Alicia Loiler got the three hits for the Eagles who played errorless softball on defense.
 
For Carrol College (11-13, 7-9 CCC), Tess Eaton took the loss in the circle going 6 strong innings while giving up three hits, striking out 5 and walking 6. Kaylin Kenney, Allison Bayer, Alison Williams and Courtney Cloud had the hits for the Saints.
 
Game 2 – Carroll 6, NU 2
 
Allison Williams pitched 7 innings of 2-hit softball while her teammates came up with 10 timely hits as the Saints rebounded for a 6-2 win in game two. Northwest U's defense also committed 5 costly errors which led to Carroll scores.
 
Northwest U got off to a good start in the first inning when Allie Anderegg hit a two out, two run home run to give the Eagles an early 2-0 lead. The lead wouldn't last too long as Carroll would come back to score three runs in the 2^nd inning off four hits. Jaylin Kenney came through with a two run, bases loaded single to drive in Tianna Sell and Brittany Smith who had both singled to get on base. Courtney Cloud scored on an NU error.
 
The Saints increased their lead in the 3^rd inning bringing two runs across home plate on 2 hits and 2 more NU errors. Carroll then got another run in the 7^th inning when Tianna Sell singled to center field driving in Kendall Mooney who had opened the inning with a double.
 
Stephanie Granger took the loss for Northwest U (10-23, 5-15 CCC) with Allie Anderegg going 1 for 2 scoring once with one RBI. Aubrey Slocum had the other hit for the Eagles.
 
Carroll College (12-13, 8-9 CCC) was led by Tianna Sell who went 2 for 2, scored once and had one RBI. Jaylin Kenney was 1 for 5 with 2 RBIs while Brittany Smith was 2 for 4 and scored twice for the Fighting Saints.
 
The two teams will play again on Saturday in another doubleheader with the first game beginning at 11 a.m. at Everest Park in Kirkland.
