Estabrook 4th and Sine 5th at CCC Preview Meet

LA GRANDE, Ore. – NU's Sarah Estabrook and Riley Sine both had top five finishes in today's Cascade Collegiate Conference Preview meet in La Grande, Ore.

Estabrook led the women runners taking fourth in the 5k run of the 74 runners entered in today's race with a time of 19:14.80. The Eagle women's team took sixth in the team standings while the College of Idaho took the top spot. Lily Engelbrekt finished 13^th overall running the course in 19:42.40. Newcomer, Quinn Dhaenens was 38^th with a time of 27:17.50. Also competing for the Eagles were: Mia Valerio (21:34.50), Kathryn Anderson (22:15.60), Megan Golling (22:26.40), Amberly Melendez (22:26.80, and Leila Praino (22:29.50).

For the NU men, Riley Sine, who is off to a good start to his sophomore season, it was a fifth place in the 8k race as he finished with a time of 25:59.00 out the field of 82 runners. Senior Kyle Cole was 21^st with a time of 26:53.80. Freshman Craig Lambert took 50th and ran the course in 28:33.30 while teammate, Gino Bruce, was in at 28:50.70. Brian Guisinger crossed the finish line in 30:05.30.

"We had a solid day today and definitely one we can learn and build from," commented NU head coach, Mark Mandi. "We are close to making a big jump on both sides and I think we are headed in the right direction. Not only has this group been training hard but we are seeing good progress in getting our injured athletes healthy. Sarah (Estabrook) and Riley (Sine) both had great races out there today. They ran with good patience and toughness and were able to set themselves up well early in their races."
