Box Score LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Eagles dominated in the statistics, but it was Eastern Oregon coming out on top of the score with a 2-1 conference victory this afternoon in La Grande. The Eagles fall to 1-2 in league play while the Mountaineers posted their first CCC victory.

Sharaya Roberts put NU into the lead, 1-0, in the 7th minute of the game as she put Stephanie Wilson's corner kick into the net. EOU's defense would then hold the Eagles scoreless for the next 83 minutes in spite of 13 first half shots including five shots on goal, all saved by EOU goalkeeper Cyndi Cottrell.

After being held scoreless in the first half and outshot 13-4, it would only take Eastern Oregon one minute to tie the game in the second half as Natalie Mitchell took a pass from teammate Taylor Boyer and finished for the goal at 46:00.

Anna Roslander would score the game winner unassisted at the 79:20 mark. The Mountaineers defense would tighten up in the second half and only yield 5 NU shots and only two Eagle shots on goal.

NU (4-5, 1-2 CCC) outshot EOU 18-12 with 8 shots on goal to the Mounties 4. Kat Sanchez took the loss in goal making 2 saves for the game. Shots were spread out evenly with Whitney Weaver leading the way with 2 shots, both shots on goal.

Natalie Mitchell led Eastern Oregon (2-2-1, 1-0 CCC) with one goal on 5 shots. Cyndi Cottrell earns the win with a total of 7 saves in goal for the Mountaineers.

Said Eagle head coach Bryan Chud following the game, "We're very disappointed to again come away with nothing to show after dominating much of the game. But, we have no time to think about it, though, and we'll turn around and be ready for Warner Pac tomorrow night."

Next Up: NU now makes the long trip to Portland to meet the Knights in a late evening doubleheader with the women playing at 8 and the men starting at approximately 10 pm Saturday night.
