Box Score 2 Bothell, Wash. – Northwest University were able to take home two victories against University of Providence (Mont.). The Eagles were able to win 3 out of the 4 game series.
Game One: Northwest University 3, University of Providence (Mont.) 2
The Eagles (9-19 overall, 3-9 CCC) were able to take the lead in the bottom of the 6
th inning, when
Maggie Harshaw hit a homerun that bounced off the left field foul pole. Harshaw also had a double in the bottom of the 4
th inning that came immediately after a single by
Alicia Loiler.
Hannah Yelas had a sacrifice fly to center field that brought home Loiler and advanced Harshaw to third. Then a timely substitution when, Coach
Montessa Califano put
Sammi Caron in to pinch hit. Caron singled to right field, driving in Harshaw from third base.
University of Providence (3-11 overall, 1-7 CCC) started the game off strong. In all four games on the series, the Argo's found a way to bring in at least one run in the first inning. Gabrielle Canibeyaz lead the Argo's by going 2 for 3 with a double in the first inning that scored her an RBI. Kristina George threw under control with no walks and 4 strike outs.
Game Two: Northwest University 11, University of Providence 1 (5 Innings)
Northwest University (10-19) was able to bring in 11 runs on 9 hits.
Hannah Yelas went 2 for 2 with a double to left field.
Sammi Caron hit 2 for 3 and had a double down the left field line.
Darian Godfrey also hit 2 for 3 and was on base every at bat.
Hannah Yelas closed the game out strong retiring 3 up – 3 down in the 4
th and 5
th innings.
The Argo's (3-12) hit the ball hard in the first inning but then struggled to get someone on base. Gabrielle Canibeyaz had a Ground-rule double over the center field fence in the first inning. Canibeyaz was brought home when Karlie Southworth doubled down the left field line.
