Box Score 2 CALDWELL, Ida. – Colette Robert shut out the Eagles for the second day in a row. The Yotes swept the Eagles to win the 4 game series 3-1.
Game One: Northwest University 0, College of Idaho 8 (6 Innings)
Northwest University (11-21 overall, 4-11 CCC) found themselves in the same position as yesterday. Colette Robert was one hit away from throwing a perfect game.
Alicia Loiler was able to break the no hitter and perfect game when she singled to left center.
Rachel Hawley threw 2 innings and allowed 3 hits, 1 run, and 1 walk.
Hannah Yelas threw 3.2 innings giving up 11 hits, 7 runs (6 earned), and 1 strike out.
College of Idaho (15-14 overall, 6-9 CCC) had almost a picture perfect game. Marissa Maddox went 4 for 4 with 1 double and 1 RBI. The Yotes had 4 doubles and 1 triple in the game. Kylie Smith went 3 for 3 with 1 double and 3 RBI's. The powerful offense of the Yotes didn't seem as important when Colette Robert threw a complete game allowing, 1 hit, 6 strikeouts, and no walks.
Game Two: Northwest University 2, College of Idaho 9 (non-conference)
Northwest University's (11-22 overall) offense mimicked yesterday's performance. In both days, they were shut out in game one and were able to pick up 2 runs in the second game. Unfortunately for the Eagles, they were not able to take a victory today.
Maggie Harshaw led the Eagles hitting 2 for 3.
Cara Cristion hit a double down the left field line in the top of the 5
th inning. The Eagles scored both runs in the 5
th inning.
The Eagles struggled to slow down the College of Idaho (16-14 overall) offense. Courtney Ellis led the Yotes going 3 for 4 with, 2 doubles, 1 triple, and 3 RBI's. Colette Robert went 2 for 2 with 1 RBI. Loryn Fonger threw 7 strikeouts in just 5 innings. She allowed 2 runs on 6 hits and no walks. The Yotes were able to take the series winning 3 out of the 4 games.
