Box Score 2 Bothell, Wash. – Northwest University continued the four game series in the rain at Knuston field. The first game was a pitchers battle going into 10 innings. The second game was much like the first game until Eastern Oregon University started hitting homeruns. This was the only non-conference game in the series.
Game One: Northwest University 1, Eastern Oregon University 2 (10 Innings)
Stephanie Granger, of Northwest University, was in a pitching battle with Hailey Kline from Eastern Oregon University. Granger threw a complete game pitching all 10 innings. She allowed 9 hits, 2 earned runs, and 2 strikeouts. Kline also threw a complete game pitching all 10 innings. Kline allowed 7 hits, 1 earned run, and 9 strikeouts.
Northwest University was able to manufacture a run in the first inning but failed to score the rest of the game.
Maggie Harshaw and
Alicia Loiler both going 1 for 3 led the Eagles hitting. Maggie earned the only RBI for the Ealges.
The Mountaineers took the lead for the first time in the game during the 10
th inning. Chelsea Spanier led off the inning with a triple over the right fielders head. Then Shevan Defreitas singled down the left field line to drive in Spanier for the lead. Shevan Defreitas led the Mountaineers hitting by going 2 for 3 with 1 RBI. Chelsea Spanier went 3 for 5 at the plate.
Game Two: Northwest University 2, Eastern Oregon University 7 (Non-conference)
Northwest University picked up runs early in the game but struggled to slow down the Mountaineers offense late in the game. The Mountaineers out hit the Eagles 13-4.
Hannah Yelas and
Courtney Heard both led the Eagles hitting by going 1 for 2 at the plate. Yelas' pitching had the game under control until the 4
th inning. Yelas threw a complete game allowing 13 hits, 7 earned runs, and 5 strikeouts.
Eastern Oregon University came alive in the top of the 4
th inning when Shevan Defreitas hit a 2-run homerun over the center field fence. The Mountaineers continued to hit the ball hard in the 5
th inning when Rayne Spencer also hit a 2-run homerun over the left center fence. Maryssa Santi led the Moutaineer's hitting by going 3 for 4. Brandi Bowling also contributed by hitting 2 for 3.
