KIRKLAND – Northwest hopes to be introduced on Senior Day Saturday as the regular-season Cascade Collegiate Champions, but first they will have to earn it.
Â
The No. 25 Eagles take on Oregon Tech Friday and Southern Oregon Saturday in a pair of noon starts.
Â
Saturday is Senior Day, and the Eagles will honor
Nadine Huff,
Mackenzie Monten,
Hannah Nicholson,
Rylee Rassier,
Victoria Rice,
Kat Sanchez,
AdriAnna Simmons,
Lina Takada, and
Stephanie Wilson before the game against SOU.
Â
Friday is the game of the weekend, though.Â
Â
Northwest enters the final regular-season weekend fully in control of its fate. A win over Oregon Tech on Friday would seal the Eagles as the regular-season champion of the CCC and secure the automatic berth to the NAIA postseason. A tie against OIT and a win against Southern also puts NU in the top spot.Â
Â
Northwest is one of seven teams to secure a CCC Tournament berth. College of Idaho and Providence are battling for the eighth and final spot, with the Yotes needing only a win over Warner Pacific or Multnomah to extend their season.
Â
Rylee Rassier and
Callie Wright are the first Northwest women's soccer teammates to each eclipse 10 goals in a season. Rassier has 16 goals this season, which ranks 21st nationally. Wright has 14 and is 33rd in the NAIA. Their seasons are currently third and fourth on the single-season scoring list at NU.
Â
Rassier has seven game-winning goals this season, which ranks sixth in the NAIA and is a school single-season record.
Olivia Morris is 25th in the NAIA with her four game winners.
Â
The Eagles are 24th in the NAIA with 2.25 assists per game, led by Morris, who is No. 13 in the nation with 11 assists. Morris tied
Jaclyn Metz's school record of 11 assists in a season last Friday.Â
Â
Kat Sanchez has a school-record 24 shutouts in her career. Sanchez is 17th nationally with a 0.68 goals-against average this season. Northwest is 26th in the NAIA with eight shutouts this year.
Â
Oregon Tech is the lone unbeaten team in Cascade Collegiate Conference games, but their two ties keep them one point behind the Eagles. OIT is 11-2-3 on the season and 8-0-2 in the CCC. They come into Friday's game with a six-game winning streak after 4-0 wins over Multnomah and Warner Pacific.Â
Â
Amanda Seward leads the team with nine goals, and Salyna Blue has a conference-leading 13 assists. Nyah Kendall leads the team with 20 points on eight goals and four assists. Jenna Stiehr has a 0.49 goals-against average and 11 shutouts this season, leading the CCC in both categories.
Â
Southern Oregon is 8-5-2 on the season and 5-3-2 in the CCC. The Raiders come into the weekend with a three-game win streak after a 7-0 win at home against Multnomah. Baylee Touey leads SOU with eight goals and 20 points. Jessie Selby is 21st in the NAIA with a 0.71 goals-against average.Â
